Japan uses Type A and B sockets at 100 V, 50/60 Hz. A US two-pin plug fits a Japanese Type A socket directly; the Type A slider on these adapters does the same while adding USB-C charging and a universal outlet for plugs from other countries.
Socket data: IEC World Plugs · The adapter does not convert voltage · Prices as of 2026-10-29
| Country | Socket types | Voltage | Frequency | Slider to use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Japan | A, B | 100 V | 50 Hz (east) · 60 Hz (west) | Type A |
Japan's 100 V supply is lower than the US 120 V; devices rated for 100–250 V run normally.

These adapters are not a voltage converter. Use them only with devices rated for 100–250 V.
Hair dryers, straighteners and curling irons must support wide voltage before they are plugged in.
A 10 A fuse protects the adapter; some models include a spare fuse (see specifications).
